3 Steps to take when you think you are being followed by a car.

Step 1 - Make sure that you are being followed

  • The first thing you should do is to stay calm, maintain your composure and avoid overly evaluating the situation.

  • Then you could take a turn that nobody would accidentally take. Take four left turns, for instance, to get to the same road. Alternatively, if you're on a highway, select an exit, but rather than turning off the highway, stay on the highway.

  • You might alternatively shift to the right lane and accelerate slowly. The vehicles following you must pass.

It's possible that someone is actually following you if, after taking these steps, the same car is still in your rearview mirror.

Step 2 - Keep driving and keep your composure

  • The best course of action for you is to keep riding. Avoid attempting to get out of your car because you could be attacked.

  • Don't spend a lot of time looking backwards when driving, and carry on as usual. If they believe they were not exposed, it will be better.

Step 3 - Do not go to your home

  • The best course of action is to drive to a police station or in the direction of assistance, like security cars. Business parks or extremely crowded shopping centres may also be helpful.

  • To draw attention and scare off the individual that is following you, you could create a lot of noise by honking the car.

  • Call the police or somebody that can help, after attempting to acquire as much information as you can about the vehicle following you, such as the driver's look, the make and model of the vehicle, the number plate number, where you are travelling, etc.

We hope that these 3 steps will help you. Always be vigilant and focus on your surroundings.
